Can you have to many pods in a tank?

Can you have to many pods in a tank? I have a 60G with shells and crushed coral substrate. Right now all I have is

6 blue leg hermit crabs
4 scarlet hermit crabs
1 Emerald Mythrax
1 sally lightfoot
1 brittle star
green fluorescent mushroom
a FEW hundred and rising pods

I want to get some polyps and soft corals in the future. I'm saving to get some new lights for the polyps and corals. I like the pods and don't want to get rid of all of them. Some are about a 1/4 inch long and multiplying. Should I worry??

pods are ususally a sign of a healthy tank. i don't think there should be any problem.

I am going to ask a really dumb question so beware. What does a pod look like and how do you know if ther are in your tank?

When you have as many as i do you see them all day. Put some flake food in and the substrate explodes with them. Mine look like Gammarella Berringgar or Maera Masters. I found the pics at www.museum.vic.gov.au/crust/amphigal.html
