Can you feed snails?!?

OK....So I'm worried about the snails in my tanks. It's a 40 gallon tank with 80 lbs. of LR that has been up for a over 3 months now and the snails have done a knock out job. I put the snails in at two months and as there was an ample supply of algae and now it's all disappearing, though not from them eating it I think maybe the cylce hadn't completely finished even though Nitrate levels had hit an all time low, but now i think that it may have continued on b/c nitrate levels right now are non-existent. Well anyway, can you feed snails? Could you crush up a dried algae disk over the rock or somehting? or just drop one on the rocks? Just curious about this. Here's what I have stocked for snails:
5 Astria snails
6 turbo snanil
5 Cerith snails

Thanks!
Chuck

Yes, it is a good idea to feed your snails if you have no algae in the tank. One thing you can do is buy one of those lettuce clips that people use to feed their tangs and herbivores. Put some Nori or seaweed select into a lettuce clip for your snails.

with that many snails in a 40g you should be fine. they find algae a lot smaller than we are able to see. this is a good thing! they should be able to find enough algae to feed themselves.

I am not sure if I am right or not but dump in one of those algae disc dried things twice a week or so. The hermits bust it up.

My rock is squeaky clean now and I was hoping they get enough to eat.
