Can a True Perc and a Black and White Clowfish breed?

The title says it all.

Thanks,

Nate

Good question. I have been wondering that too. My two sure seem like a pair.
I'm sure if they did though in my tank the eggs would just get eatin or if a baby did hatch it would then get eaten. I have baby molly's that make it to the overflow then.... don't know, just gone.
Guess I'm not a very good mother.

I am not 100% sure of this...but pretty close.

It would depend ENTIRELY on if their in the same species...correct?

isn't that one of the characteristics of a species? They can reproduce?

I am about to do that next week when I get my UV sterilizer and with a black and white perc to pair with my true perc. I'll post pics once I got em.
So I think it's possible, I hope it works *crosses fingers*

Here are the problems you face. First you need to create a breeding pair. to do that you will need to stick 2-3 of each kind in the tank together. when you do this they will pair up in their own species first and then kill off the stragglers. the other option is to try putting them together one at a time. they will either kill each other, be indifferent, or pair up. Just keep in mind that you don't see anyone selling mixed breeds so it may be a long shot...

I have a true perc and the black and white now, and they have paired up already. I am crossing my fingers that within the next year I will have babies. The lady at the LFS said that they can breed, and the babies will be some black and whites and some true percs. We'll see if she's right.
