camel shrimp

about a week ago I had two camel shrimp. a few days ago I found the first one ripped in half on the bottom of the tank. today I found the other in the same condition. The only thing I have in the tank besides fish is a huge bubble tip brittle star. ever heard of brittle stars attacking shrimp? maybe I should feed him more......

definitely not molting...I can see the meat coming out from the middle. Last night I watched the star eat a piece of the poor shrimp....exoskeleton and all. he's about 18 inches across when he stretches out...a real monster.
