Calling All Coralife Super Skimmer Users...help needed!
I'm thinking about getting either the 65 or the 125 model but I'm worried about the size. I have read the online instructions from the Coralife site for both models. The 65 model indicates 8" x 9" space in the sump, and the 125 says it needs 10" x 12".
The marine depot website has measurements that are smaller than the instructions indicating it takes 5.5" x 6.25" for the 65 model and 8" x 7.25" for the 125. Could someone with one of these models give me an idea on which measurement is more accurate. And if I can mod the bubble trap or whatnot to make is smaller, what kind of space will I need? Sorry for the long post but I dont want to order it and have it not fit. Thank you.
Chad

It's hard ffor me to get the measurment right now, But even in the sump if you have room You can hang it on the outside of the sump and have the pump dropped into the sump, Thats if You have room in the area by the sump. Thats how I placed my 125 . If someone don't jump in I will try to measure tomorrow.

I dont know the exact but my 125 fits fine in my 10 gall sump. Also as long as you have baffles in your sump you dont have to use the bubble trap.. or if you use pvc to hard plum it then just make the output tub run all the way to the bottom of your sump so that the water has to travel further to get to the return pump. If I had to guess though my 125 is about 9in x 8 or so.

I have to pull my 125 out of my sump this afternoon. If you haven't got your answer by then I'll post the measurements for you.

I'm guessing that the difference in dimensions is due to one site measuring the skimmer only and the other includes the pump.

A measurment would be great. I figured it was something like that. I really need the width including the pump and the length including the pump also. I have read that the large bubble trap isn't necessary.
I guess I just need the largest possible dimensions for the space it will cover. Sorry for being such a pain in the butt. Thanks again.

Thanks for measuring it for me. Now I just need to decide between the 65 and the 125. Thanks for everyone's help.

I've got the 65 on my 55g and it skims like crazy....I wanted the 125 but didnt have the room, actually it turned out I didn't have room in the sump for it either and I use it as a HOT instead.
Mine has been running for about 2 weeks and the skimmate is some of the darkest, nastiest skimmate I've seen. I switched from a Pro Clear Aquatics (they have an older name too?) skimmer that barely got skimmate the color of green tea at best. Now my skimmate is blacker than coffee and stinks "wonderfully" Great product for the money IMO/IME.....
EDIT: sorry I don't have the dimensions here, but it is a pretty big skimmer overall w/ the bubble trap and pump.

Yeah I have read some good things about them. Sounds like a good value for the price if you have the patience to get it tuned correctly.

Mine was extremely easy to get set correct....Of course I did read the 40+ page thread on RC about them and learned a few tricks!! When you get one, post back any probs or ???s....Good choice for an inexpensive (but not cheap) skimmer.

How does everyone compare the Coralife 125 to the ASM G-2? The ASM is about $100 more, but is it worth it?
