People,
Right now I have a 20GH
nano reef that is doing pretty well. The only problem that I have is constantly low ALK. I am trying to shoot for 4meq/L, but have a hard time getting it above 2meq/L with buffers. I have tried both
Kent Marine and Seachem brand buffers without much luck. Here are my other parameters:
Ca: 420ppm
Temp: 79F
PH: 8.2
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: Undetectable
Ammonia: 0
Recently I bought a box of C-Balance with both the A (calcium) and B (buffer) components. The instructions on the bottles say that you need to add both products together (knew that) in order to achieve a good ionic balance. From reading posts here, I have read that some people say that if you add Ca, it will bring down the Alk and vise versa. How am I to go about raising my Alk to where I want it? Can I add the 'B' component and watch my Ca content, or should I add a different buffer and then use C-Balance once everything is where I want it. I have tried partial water changes without much help. What do you guys think???????
