Butterfly with Featherdusters

Hey everyone. Well I finally got my butterfly to start eating the formula one and the brine shrimp, but now he has gotten more interested in the tank, and picks at the feather duster everytime he pops out. Is there anyway to remedy this, or should i bring back the butterfly for something a little calmer. The last thing i want to do is have one fish disrupt the entire tank. Also any ideas for new tank mates now, something that will mix with 2 clowns, a royal gramma, and a fiji spotted puffer, as wel as snails, shrimp, etc.

Thanks once again!
jim

This is just my opion. Butterflies are very difficult to get to eat. I had one and it did the something. My butterfly died because it wouldn't eat anything else. If I had one eating I would prob give the feather duster to a friend or lfs.

butterfies will nip at every feather duster they can reach, sometime ripping them out of the tube and leaving them for dead, also are prone to nip at clams till they wont open anymore, regardless if they are fed well or not.

Thanks for your help! I decided to go ahead and keep the butterfly and get rid of the feather duster. In its place, i got a sailfin tang, one that i had had my eye on for a while. Now i think my tank may be set for good. Or until i get bored. Which is hopefully a long time from now.
