Bulkhead Question

For the overflow for my upcoming 120g with a 40g sump should I have 2 1" bulkheads, or 2 2" bulkheads for the overflow?

well it depends on how much water your pump pushes i have a 55g with a 10g sump and 1 1" bulkhead with a little giant pump pushing about 600 gph so i think the 2 1" bulkheads would be plenty

sara , go with the two 2" bulkheads ! you will be covered no matter if you decide to upgrade your pump . but also it will be much quieter with the larger size .

yeha i agree with gwaco aka goat herder the pump is pretty big and the 2 1" would handle it but 2" wouldent make a diffrence but cover you if you ever did upgrade or whatever. but 2" will make a louder slurping noise i use a piece of 1/8" id clear tube just stick it in so air can get past without making that noise GOODLUCK!!!!!

2' is way over kill. I have ~1000 GPH flowing through 1 1".
Two 1" should be plenty. Plus you'll have room for a durso standpipe.

Oh do the durso, makes the overflow very silent.
