Bulkhead leaking help please

I just put in a new overflow on my 75 gallon. I purchased a 1500gph overflow kit from www.gla ss-holes.net Everything was going good until I noticed that one of the bulkheads was leaking. I tried to take it off this AM to seal it but I cannot get it off. I cracked the overflow in the process, not bad but enough to really irritate me. So now it looks like I will not be able to get it off short of breaking the whole overflow kit.

Is there a way I can seal it using a putty of some sort? Note this overflow is on the top left hand side of the tank not at the bottom so there would not be a lot of pressure.

sounds like you tightened them way to much. hand tight is all you need.

did you put the gasket on the wet side?

another thing would be to make sure the holes are deburred and dont have any irregularities where the gasket seats.

I dont know that any sort of putty would be a good fix for this. Silicone could possibly seal it, but it would need to be dry long enoph for it to cure. The best course of action would be to remove the bulkhead and inspect things to determine why your leaking.

I can't really get my camera behind there. Not enough room between the wall and the tank. It is just leaking from the bottom of the bulkhead, slow and steady.
