Building a sump

I went to http://www.melevsreef.com and looked at making sump J. Just one problem, I can't figure out how the water gets into the refugium. I see how the water comes in the skimmer section through the small 2.5" chamber in the back right. Then I can see the wall from the skimmer area leading to the bubble trap is lowered to allow the water to pass that way through the trap and to the return section. Again, what I don’t understand is how you get the water into the refugium. Now at this point in time, I probably do not have to explain I am new to this. I am looking at making my sump very similar to this one. Dimensions will be something like 32”X12”X16”

Any suggestions? The area I am able to fill is 46”LX12”WX27”H and using a Euro Reef ES5-3 Which stands about 24” high

Thanks in advance

Anthony

If you go back to the site and click on "How it works" it explains it and even shows you how to make it. It's with an overflow box that just drains into the sump/refuge.

I believe if you look at Marc's plans the pipe from the tank t's, one side to skimmer, one to fuge.
