how long has the tank been setup? if it has only been a couple of weeks, do not worry about it. they are prolly some kind of pod. nothing bad. you will get a lot of different critter population booms in the first year of a tanks life. most die off as fast as they start.

i pretty new at reefing, but i had them also when i set up my tank, as geoff said just some type of pod, mine died off pretty fast, i think that if you are just setting up your tank the die off will only help the tank cycle. No i dont think it will cause any harm, but what do i know.

probably copepods. thats usually the first sign of life in a new tank. they are basicly just free fish food.

if they scatter like roaches, than they are pods and nothing to worry about.

is it red hair algae, or is it more like a red matt over things?
trying to figure out if it is algae or cyano (bacteria).
