Bubble anemone no longer a bubble?

Ok, I bought a bubble anemone over a year ago. He was a bubble for all of about 2-3 weeks. Ever since then he gets nice and large, but tentacles are long and thin? local LFS store says they don't know why they do this? Anybody have any input? Itis in a 20 gal long with 65w PC, ammonia, nitrites are all 0, nitrates and phosphates just barely show up. Any ideas?

Nope... although that's a pretty small tank for an anemone that can get HUGE...

They do this. I've got one in a 52 corner tank that I maintain, I placed it there 3 1/2 years ago. It went "long" for a while, split.. the daughter shrunk up to the size of a pencil eraser, then moved away where it's starting finally to open and grow a bit, and suddenly the mother developed bulbous tips again...

Go figure.

It's not unusual for them to lose the bubbles but nobody knows just what makes them change...

hmmm...OK, as long as its not trying to tell me something is wrong. I guess when I say huge I mean he covers almost half the tank. I figure he opens up to at least a foot. when we bought him he was only about 2" in diameter. Anyway, thanks for the input.
