BTA hosting help

I just added a BTA to my tank and i have two clown fish. For some reason they wont host the BTA. When i did a water change the other day, while i was siphoning some of the water out, the male was hiding in the BTA for a while, while the hose was in the tank, but they never really go near it now. is there anything i can do to get them to host it? thanks for your help!
Saac.

What kind of clownfish? They just may feel very secure in your tank. You may need to scare them more!

How long has the BTA been in there? My tomato didn't pay one bit of attention to the BTAs for two or three weeks. Then, one night he "discovered" them and we haven't been able to separate them since.

This my just be a myth but you could try:

putting a pic of a clown fish hosting and it might scare the clown into hosting,

i did it and it made the clown stay on the other side of the tank thats it

well it took my marron clown 3 weeks to host with my BTA and its a Seabea Anemone no when ever i am using the kent algee scraper he will defend his anemone he will not allow me to come near it. BTW before the maroon hosted it one of my perc had hosted it for 2 days and the maroon chased him off. Now my Percs have hosted in my colt coral but the kolt does not like them.

I have a male and female percula. i have had the BTA for about two and a half weeks. I thought it only took two weeks for them to start to host them, that is why i am curiouse as to why they havent yet.

you might check this article to see what anemones the percs naturally host. i have a black perc and 2 RBTA and he doesn't seem to pay much attention to them. i'm thinking of getting rid of the black perc and getting a tomato instead, since they naturally host in the BTAs.

It's not a 'natural' match. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't but these don't normally host in BTA in the wild so it's a crap shoot at best.

May take a few weeks, few months, or not at all... just depends on the clowns.

I've heard this works too, taping a picture of a clownfish hosting on the front of the tank buy the anonomie, but never tried it myself.

Whiskey
