I've never found anything that would consistantly eat bryopsis - that wasn't more trouble that they are worth, or just something I didn't want to put in my tank.
Bryopsis likes to find little pockets of detritus to get started, then traps more detritus, limits the amount of water circulation around it's base, which causes the area to get more anoxic, which causes the substrate to decompose more detritus, and also causes the anoxic interface in the sediment to move closer to the surface and leak more phosphate.
got it? LOL
What works for me is to pull as much out as I can, hit that area with a toothbrush, scrub it easy for a long time, then blast the pores of the rock out with a turkey baster.
The bryopsis will usually come back a time or two after that, but if I keep blasting and cleaning, it will eventually go away for good.

I also have found it to be as spanky just stated, It is in a few areas and if you blash it with water movement it is amazing the amount of junk that is collected in that area, Nasty stuff, I have it in a few places and have been able to keep it there and not have it spead all over. I am trying alot of things to see if they eat it, nothing yet.

well, for the rocks i can remove, im gonna pull them, remove as much as i can, and torch the area, wash with a tooth brush, then put it back. what about the stuff in the sand bed? removing all the sand with it should work right? just syphon and toss it all?

I love the lettuce nudi's but if you have any kind of open intake anywhere in your tank they will become a green shreaded mess, just warning you. I finally gave up on them.

Andy, those slugs are a pain. They work pretty good for people that have the old style tanks with very little flow, but are literally all over the place if you have any decent current at all. Plus, yes, they might eat it, but there is tons of other stuff in your tank they would rather eat and talking them into ignoring that and going after your bryposis is going to be a good trick.
Don't pull your rocks and torch them! You going to mess up the bacterial layers that are in the rocks and probably make the situation even worse.
Just do what I told you, pull, scrub, and squirt.

Who would do such a crazy thing.......pffffft.
Torch your rocks.......lol
But seriously....it works especially if you want it gone with only one time of messing with it. The rock looks white for a month where you torch it, but it doesnt come back i promise you that. Ive done it a couple of times and never noticed anything. I figured i have plenty of rock, a little bit of it dying surely isnt going to hurt anything

ive burnt a couple rocks before, but much smaller stuff than this, the stuff is on a few of my largest rocks, and i have about 10 good tufts of it, so wasnt sure about spreading a fire through my tank. but i WILL win, something like this wont stop me from reefing!!
