brown hair algae

my 55 is cycling with dead shrimp i got a little ammonia started in the water. i got brown hair algae that came on one of my liverocks from my lfs growing quickly on the rocks and swaying in the current! the algae phases are normal for a new tank correct? is there anything i can do to get rid of this or does it just go away by its self?

Your tank is in the cycle stage and this is normal. Just keep a eye on your Phos levels and also you nitrate levels.

I had the same problem with my tank when i started you will go through many algae stages.

just test test test that my advice

so does it just literally eventually dissolve away into the water? or do you have to take it out?
