well my nano had a really bad brown algae problem but after a few good water changes and about 2 weeks it seems to be clearing is that a good sign? the tank has been cycling for almost 4 weeks now and i have waited until the algae was clearing and that time has come go to the LFS and get my water checked but i just wanted to make sure that every thing is ok before i make a unless trip to the LFS 30mins away

Ya, the brown algae going away is definitally a good sign,.. Your tank will probably go through a few algae stages in the begining and the brown algae is usually the first one.
