Bristle worms???

Ok,

It will be tough trying to capture these on camera..but I will try today to do it. I have some WEIRED things going on in the tank that I need some insight on...

1. I have a rock covered in 'shrooms and at the bottom at night I have noticed these "arm" like things extending out up to about three inches and digging in the dirt...when I first saw these I thought I had some sort of TINY squid because of the elasticity of the ?arms/???. Bristle worms?

2. I have a "bubble," furry brown and somewhat translucent growing on the same rock I will take a pic of this and post it too. Any idea what the heck it is?

3. I noticed one of my "sponges/filters" on a powerhead being compressed indicating it was probably clogged. I usually clean them every two weeks, but this one was yelling for help early. So...I pulled it off and took it to the bathroom sink and started cleaning it under water. During the process, my hands started to itch like crazy (like I had fiberglass on my hands). This power head sits on the TOTAL opposite end of the tank than the other rock with I refered to in #1. Thoughts on what this is?

Frank

#1 is most likely a spaghetti worm, Now ideas on the brown thing without a pic, Not sure on the itchy sponge either.

Updated...

Here is a pic...and I thought I'd through one in of the twin 55 project....BTW..I am killing this setup and going for a larger single SW tank...the 55 on the left gets NO attention from the neighbors or kids..GRIN.

The brown thing I am refering to is the "fuzzy bubble"

ON the question above...what the heck was in that filter that got to my hand? I still feel it, 3 days later! Again, it was like I was playing with fiberglass.

Frank

PS...in the tank picture..tilted PH on the left is the one I was refering to...rock is the BROWN MUSHROOM covered one on the far right opposite the PH.

Ok..Kewl...so no worry on the Speghetti worms..

Any idea what the "heck" was it that tore my hands up so bad? They still feel like I have fibreglass in them!

You probably touched a bristle worm. The bristles itch just like fiberglass - duct tape applied to your fingers and then ripped off will usually remove them (that's how I do it), some say vinegar will melt them out too, but I have not tried that one - I carry duct tape in my tool box for that purpose

The fuzzy bubble looks like a bit of ball sponge - nothing to worry about, and ditto on the spaghetti worm theory.

All are fine for your tank.

Nice pics

I copied the pic enhanced it made it bigger and I still have no idea. it almost looks like an egg sac of some sort but if I had to guess i'd say prob a sponge or tunicate both harmless but that just my guess, I have dozens of spaghetti worms thney just eat left over crap in your tank, They're awesome to have around

Thanks all..Yeah..>I thought it looked like a spider egg sack...looks MEAN! Hope its just a sponge....

Don't get too used to the pics...I bought a 150G that I'll be setting up after I get back from working for Uncle SAM!!! I leave on the 8th but hopefully won't be gone TOO LONG.

The 55 FW is going to a neighbor and the 55 SW will be the fuge for the 150.
