Unhappy

Boy am I glad this is a softie tank. Pic

Yep, that's a Kalk overdose.

My mind was on other things, and I did 4 stupid things right in a row, and that's the result. I of course have no water made up.

It is interesting to see a skimmer pull out pure, snow white foam though.

Good memory,.. it was 6 months ago I think,... in the 15G BB, the float valve stuck on a wire or something and dumped about 5G of kalk water into the tank.

Thanks for the offer, but we still have the fast car problem.

Sorry to hear that! I hope they are ok after the storm. I had a involuntary reaquascapping today. That was 3 hours of pain. Good luck with them.

so in the event this happens to anyone else, what should one do, besides avoid it initally?

emergany water change? i assume, skimmer will take out some? what effect will this have on PH? i guess the worst thing is it is toxic to everything in the tank?

i'm not trying to draw attention to ur prob whiskey, i just want to learn what the consiquences are.

I hate that too,... at least in this case nothing gets crushed.

If you can big water change is best,... bigger the better.

Skimming wet takes allot out.

The PH in my tank was about as high as it goes (nearly 12), now it's droped down to about 9.5. It's been a couple of hours.

Yes,.... it can kill everything,.. but will it? I guess that depends on how your tank is setup, how effectivly you can minimize the damage, and how sensitive your orginisms are.

That's exactally why I posted this up here Koddie Doo, so people could ask questions.
