Blue Tuxedo Urchin
Hi,
Does anyone have any of these Blue Tuxedo Urchins? I am thinking about getting one but I read they need alage to survive. I don't have too much algae in my tank. How can I feed it if I get one? I read that you can use dry seaweed, but how do you feed it to make sure it gets food?
Thanks

I would pass. I had brown wafer algae and a Foxface, Naso and Urchin were my options. I bought a pencil urchin and he did nothing but eat coraline algae and knock over corals every other day. He is now in my penalty box(sump). Let me know when you want to swing by to pick him up!

There's a lot of difference between the behaviors of the pencil urchins and the tuxedo urchins...
One is a bulldozer, the other is a bit more graceful. I keep the Tuxedo urchins in established tanks, but not unless even in these systems the corals are all secure.

yes, keep the corals in place and suppliment him some nori and he should be fine. they will pick up stuff and carry it with them if it isn't nailed down.
