Blue Tang vs Yellow Tang
I've been running tons of different fish combinations through my head as to what I'm going to be doing for my 75G. There is a possibility I might want to get a Tang (between Blue or Yellow).

I dont really think Id want to get both, since they can grow to be kinda big, especially for a 75G. Anyone have any experiences with either? Or are they about the same to care for?

Don't have a ton of experience, but my yellow tang is AWESOME! He's the coolest fish and really interested in people. (maybe that's cause we feed him..hehe)

I have had both for 3 years and they did great. Up till a few months back the blue tang decide to eat my small zoos?????
But this is very odd. Just get which you prefer.
My blue tang was very ditzy so to speak like DORI!

I've been leaning on the Yellow Tang the past few days...Blue Tangs look cool when they are small, but when they get big they kind of get ugly...whereas the Yellow Tang is just cool all over.

Go yellow, I have heard they are easier, and stay a bit smaller. That does not mean it is true, it is just what I have heard...lol. Hatty is your tank set up yet? I have some zoa's for sale on TCMAS. I also have a few pink digi frags if you are interested. Feel free to pm me if you are. Also are you going to the meeting Monday?

No my tank isn't setup yet. I have yet to buy the tank. On Monday after school I am going to buy a tank..but it will be on layaway...so I will not actually get it for a month or so cuz I need to pay it off before I can take it from the LFS. I'll take a pic of it though.
As for an actual timeline of when I will have my tank ready for fish...I'm probably looking at possibly May? June at the latest.
Not sure about the meeting yet....whats going down at this meeting? (JnS had mentioned it when I stopped by his house the other day).
Thanks for the input on the Tangs.

Purple Tangs look cool...but they need a big tank....My 75G might be pushing it for him. If I get a Tang, I'll probably get a Yellow

be sure to add green seaweed for him every few days to pick at. They like to eat lots of it.

All tangs are predominatly vegitarian, most eat mainly algae and some animal foods collaterally. Their digestive system is set up for a high veggie diet.
PLEASE don't consider adding a tang, any species till the tank is up and unning and had at least 6 months to settle down, they dont deal with bad water conditions well and are easily stressed by high nitrates, insufficient swimming space and aggressive tank mates. The yellow tang is prolly the hardiest if you pick well at the store and have them hold it for a few weeks to make sure its calmed down, eating ok and not going to get ich right off the bat/.
Any tang will benefit from Nori soaked in Selcon, sas do most marine fish if they will eat the nori, Selcon is also good to feed or soak briine shrimp in as wellas a vital component of "reef mush"

So basically if I want to get a tang, I should wait until the tank has been up and running smoothly for quite some time....gotcha.

Please, you will both be happier in the long run, if your LFS suggests adding one after a month RUN, dont walk and never look back (
