blue skimmer cup?

So I'm used to the color of my skimmer cup being like iced tea, but yesterday when I cleaned it out, it was a strange clear blue-green color. What's up with that?

Do you have a coral or anemone that's bleaching? You didn't have a horseshoe crab die in the tank did you? No octopus, squid, sea slug (like Spanish dancer) in the tank is there?

+1 to all those questions, PLUS. What kind of food are you using? Some of them have dies in them. I used flake food and this happened to me.

well, I don't have any anemones or corals at the moment (not enough light to support either), or anything else that was mentioned.

this is exactly what I have in my tank:
2 H. reidi seahorses (male and female pair)
1 Bali knob starfish
1 Pom Pom crab
1 emerald crab
1 scarlet cleaner shrimp
1 peppermint shrimp
1 white ray goby
1 pistol shrimp
and a variety of scarlet hermits, trochus snails, and nassarius snails

i'm using Ocean Nutrition formula 1 and 2 pellets for the goby, and frozen Piscine Energetics mysis shrimp for the horses.

i r confuze.

nah, but I do live in a house of 20 college kids. People go in my room to stare into my tank in an inebriated state quite often. I'm surprised I haven't found floating beer cans yet.
