Blasto Frag placement.

Hello! I got a very large frag of Blastomussa Merletti at my LFS today. It looked really happy up top but I am reading that its happy low or even in the sandbed. What have you guys found a suitable place for these? Direct in the light? Kinda tucked away in the shade?? Thanks for your help!

These guys were individual pieces that were loose after a large colony was fragged...The owner of a LFS gave the to me for free and I super glued them back together. They are on the side of a rock in the mid section or the tank...the light is not terribly bright there, but they are growing well.

I have them in the sand and in the middle of the tank...both do fine. Just don't put them high enough to get sunburnt. They seem to get ticked at heavy flow.

These ones have always done best sitting down by the sandbed and they like a fair amount of direct light too.

I have had others that have preferred to be slightly shaded though.

I have placed a group fairly high in the tank, in direct MH lighting, to try and avoid the evil jaws of my Koran Angel. So far so good!
