I'm still having trouble with cyano after almost 6 months of being setup. I
don't want to use chemicals as a cure. I have a 20g Long with 24" lights over it, yes i realize they fall short (but this works well for a zero light specimine). my question is in regards to this 6" of the tank, NO cyano grows there. the lighting is the only difference. would a almost 100% water change at the end of the day when the cyano growth is at it's worst followed by a 2 day blackout help eliminate the cyano? i know the procedure works for
hair alge in freshwater. would it have any drastic effects of the corals that require light in my system?
a new lighting system is not an option at this time. new bulbs would be, just tell me what to get (the lighting issue gives me a migrane), i'm probably due for new bulbs.
any feedback would be welcomed pros and cons.
thanks,
christi
