Yep! They are brackish and can be acclimated to SW. They love algae in FW. I assume and have heard they are great for clearing up hard to clear patches.

I haven't tried to slowly acclimate them myself. I know people that have been sucessful though. The only bad thing that I know of is that they don't seem to know to stay away from anemones and elegance corals like SW fish do. I have fed them to elegance corals just by dropping them in the tank. They'll swim right into the tentacles.

The Black Molly is omnivorous and that prefers both meaty foods as well as algae. Provide these fish with an algae-based flake food, as well as freeze-dried bloodworms, tubifex, and brine shrimp.

I mostly have sps now. I got rid of my last anemone because it started moving around a lot and killing corals. My clownfish are not real happy about it. The now host a large monti cap.

I put a black mollie in my tank once and she had a hundred babies LOL
problem is, none of them attacked my hair algae  They all just stayed in the upper corners of my tank

The one that acclimated in a day - lost his
the one that took a a few days to do it - still has it in his tank a year later
and yes it is eating algea

I acclimated mine in about 2 hours. Lets hope they make it.
