black epoxy to paint PVC?...
in my search for black pvc i spoke to a guy at this site and found this...
http://www.aquaticeco.com/aquatic1v...s=2&numitems=11
he said that they use this all the time in pond and large holding tank applications at fish farms etc...
all i need is a section of black PVC for a siphon tube down in the tank for a closed loop system...
so the question is do you think this would be safe?...
it says..."It is recognized by the EPA as non-toxic (after curing), is extremely durable and has excellent adhesion to a wide variety of materials."

Why bother??? The coralline will have it covered in a few months anyway, why take the chance? Epoxy is almost always non-toxic, it is based on resins that form insoluble complexes and do not leech significant4 amounts of resins back to the water column, but then again, why take the chance when it will be covered by coralline in a few months?

Hey Brad-
When I was at my LHD (local home depot...lol), they had white and also black pvc pipe. You could start with the black if you want. It was only pennies difference in price. Good luck!

Brad, keep offering green type food,ie: the dried sheet greens/reds etc.,any algae type frozen/flake food,,,go to Wal-mart in Valpo and get a head of Romaine lettuce and rinse and put a leaf on a clip,,,,,let it graze,,,,,

i thought i read somewhere that you shouldnt use clear because of algae growth within the pipe which i guess could restrict flow?....
jeff
not sure if caulerpa would work or not...it seems to only go for the brown macros...i will stop by today and pick up some new foods to try...
