Black and White Percula

LFS has a great looking black and white percula that I've been looking at. I first saw it about 2 wks ago and have seen it 3x since then. It looks and acts healthy except that it has a white spot on its fin about 1mm in size. The spot looks kinda like cauliflower and was there when I first saw him and it's still there. Like I said, it acts and looks great. Is it a parasite, disease? I'd love to get him but I'm not liking the spot. Whadya think?

Probably A Fluke Or Parasite Of Some Sort. Nothing A Dip Would Not Cure. As Long As He Is Eating And Looks Healthy I Would Not Worry. MOST ARE TANK BRED AND PRETTY DURABLE.

Do you think a cleaner shrimp would take care of it?

Its pretty much hit or miss. I have had 2 cleaners in my 30 for about a year and a half and neither have ever gone near my fish.--(except trying to pounce on them!)

if the spot looks puffy or cotton lik eyou can be looking at a fungal infection waitin to happen. you might ask the LFS to give him a treatment before you get him..

I just think that if the LFS can't or wont put him in QT it may be a good time for you to set one up and QT it yourself. Bad to add anything or water from a another system to yours. You may live to regret it in the end. I say if he is eating and looks very healty get it but QT and treat as needed. Good luck.
