Bird Wrasse Problems

We have a male bird wrasse that developed a large green growth on the
upper edge of its snout (mouth). This growth has slowly gotten larger
during the past 2 months.
My green bird wrasse also has developed a white area around his eyes
that
appears to be a disintegration of some of the flesh.
The bird wrasse eats well and swims with the other fish, he seems
healthly but he is looking worse.
The local store has told me to use Formalin, I have been treating for
2 months, but have not seen anything get better only worse.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Tony

Tony, sorry to hear that the wrasse is having this problem, but without pix or some better descriptions, everything that we can offer here would be idle speculation on anything from a fungal growth to a developing dermal tumor. Pix will help, but may still not be enough. I am sure that there will be many needed questions to help narrow the scope of what could be the problem(s).

Sorry to hear that there is a problem at all.
