Bio Chem Zorb...good or bad?

I've got an ongoing battle with cyano bacteria in my tank. The tank is almost 1 year old, and the only outbreaks I've had was a lot of diatoms, at about 4 or 5 weeks old. The Cyano appeared about a month ago, and I'm sick of sucking it out, putting PH's on the affected area, and changing %10 of water once a week. I picked up a jar of Bio Chem Zorb, and was wondering if it will help me take care of this problem. My tank is mostly LPS with some SPS and a small leather. Will this Zorb stuff affect any corals? Thanks for any input

i've used it in freshwater before, i think...it was a long time ago.... well not as long ago as maybe when Doug got his first metal framed, slate bottomed tank that he had to walk uphill both ways with a mud-lined sieve to fill with NSW, yanno before birds 'evolved'.....but it was some time ago and i had it in my oscar's tank and i think it kept it pretty clean, but i don't remember enough about it to know if whatever it does will help you against cyano

it might help a little but not really..it is just a pricey filter media....

what do you have in the tank for a clean up crew? what do yuou think could be causing the growth?.

their is a discusion going on about the 10% WC and wheather is does anyything... 10% really does nothing...but add fresh stuff for algae to eat...

did you try reducing your lights on time? then doing a cleaning?(WC)
