Scrub and cook... But we would need more information in order to say what the best way for you and your particular situation

Kind of algae, tank up and running with critters? Why do you have algae is also a good place to start... Finding the source of the problem would be helpful...

Low P04 and Nitrates, a good cleaning crew and time.

Even if you scrub and cook but don't have good parameters, it will come back.

I don't know the reason the algae is coming. (probably because it cycling)

The algae is a brown color, don't know what kind.

Yes, it has some critters and I have plenty of worms on the rocks.

Any help would be great!

Brown is probably diatoms which will pass. They hold on for a while and then will disappear almost overnight.

Ok, thanks. (How long until they disappear?) Had it up for about 1.5-2 weeks.

oh man, sit back and relax. you are just getting started. be patient. if you can't be patient about your initial diatom outbreak you are gonna have a hard time with this hobby. trust me this happens to every saltwater tank that gets put up

Brown algae can last a pretty long time in some cases. They are usually fed by silica which can be coming from your rock, sand, or water. If you can, do your best to use ro/di water to eliminate incoming silica. You can also suction out the brown algae to reduce it's duration, but, as stated above, it will eventually go away.

My first SW tank over 100 gallon had a 3 month diatom outbreak. It was so hard being patient and then poof, they were gone

The problem is that there is no standard time, every tank is made up of different rock, water, ect... and every tank reacts differently from one another, even if they are in the same house! So, just wait it out. Some people treat for it, I strongly disagree with this approach. It is a natural phase that will pass. Make sure your parameters are in check, practice good husbandry and you'll be fine.

Dave.

Interesting on the long diatom outbreaks, I have gone through new system setups 3 times and not had that long of an outbreak.

.... or you can have no outbreak at all. As mentioned above, it depends on many factors.
