Put all your rock in a big tub with a cover with a powerhead for a couple of months and do large water changes every 1-2 weeks to get rid of any nitrates, phosphates.

I did a soak in bleach water for a few hours, then rinsed it.

I followed it by a soak in a 1:1 (water:vinegar) for 24 hours, then rinsed it with RO/DI water

I cooked it the standard way for 2 months. No stuff was coming off the rocks at that point when I would swish it in a bucket

Fast forward 3 months with the rock in the tank, small patches of hair algae on my rocks. Not sure why.

I feed little and I used a phosban reactor. Nitrates zero, phosphates zero.

Just posting to let you know not to rush. Maybe I just went to fast?!? Not sure what I did wrong but learn from my mistake, whatever it may be
