Best Temperature?

Hey just wondering what the best temp for a reef tank. I have 120 with tons of soft corals and a moderate amount of stony. I have been keeping it in the range of 76-80 and was just wondering if that the optimal range or should I lower it?

thanks

I keep my tanks 79-82. I think you will find that 79-80 is pretty average for most people

My SPS tank runs 80-81, my Softie tank runns about 77-78 because of the lower lighting for softies.

it does not matter as long as it is consistant throughout the day. should not change more than a degree if at all possible. other than that it is personal preference. the higher the temp the higher the metabolism, but the higher the risk of tank crash if something gets out of hand. i have mine on a seasonal timer. ranges from 75 in the winter to 81 during the summer.
