Best Magnetic Glass Cleaner?
I've got a Mag Float from my old tank that is too small for the new tank. Magnets aren't strong enough so I'm looking at getting a new one and wanted to get some input. Obviously I could go with a larger Mag Float but I wonder about the others. Magnavore and I know there's at least one other brand I've seen / heard about. What are thoughts? Thanks guys

I got an off brand with super strong magnets from petsmart. the magnets were sooo strong that the edged of the felt on the outside started to peel and everytime I used it I would get glue residue ion the glass and it was hard to get off. and it did not float which was a pain in the A@#. I went back to a mag float A much larger one!

The small mag floats are weak, but the larger ones are much stronger.

I have had a few of the small ones, and they were all the same, so its not a bad one. The magnets are just weak.

Remember there are ratings on the mag floats. Yuo need to know your glass thickness before you buy one

I have very thick glass on my tank (3/4"), and I didnt want to pay the $120+ for the magfloat brand. I ended up with an algae free brand floating cleaner, and it's awesome. Even with the extra thick glass, my arm get sore if I clean the whole tank (and I'm no pip-squeak). I'd recommend looking into them, as you can replace the pads after time, which is not something I've ever seen on the magfloats.

There really is no comparison between the mag floats and the magnivores. The strength of the magnivore magnets is insane, but you pay for it as well. Mag floats work fine for me

my 350 mag float works great but when I glued on an optional scraper it keeps one end(where the scraper is) from sitting flat on the glass. But the product itself works fine

I have a Mag-Float 500 on my 180 and it takes 2 hands and someone to push you to move it LOL. But I like the fact that it is 5-1/2in long. 3 passes over the front glass and its done.
