best cleaner for a dirty tank

I have a 20 gallon tank that I purchased off of craigslist. It has a nice water line near the bottom and visible green algae on the inside.....a typical used tank that sat in the garage for a year.
Whats the best solution for cleaning it?
Mild soap? vinegar? bleach?
thanks

ditto, vinegar. Let it sit on it about 15 to 20 mins then it will wipe right off with a towel. You can buy the white vinegar from a grocery store for about 1.5$/gal.

Instead of a razor use a plastic gift card. No risk of scratches and works well. Ditto to the vinegar.

I used to regularly clean even the simplest of things such as dust and salt water streaks off of my front viewing panels when my tanks were glass with razorblades on a regular basis.....like daily. Unless you have uncontrollable twitches or intentionally yark the blade on edge or use a damaged blade or get really really drunk on your hard alcohol of choice and then try to hold the blade with your toes it does NOT scratch the glass. They even make these cool little holders for them for scraping glass with..........

Thats the beauty of glass. It works great and plows through anything stuck to glass

OK, now for a slightly different question - how do you clean a water mark inside the tank after it's already filled up with saltwater and corals?

Same way, NEW razorblade, NO vinegar. You can toss the blade when your done as it is a one time use thing.......
