Best algae scraper

Well I went and bought a cheap(5 bucks) algae scraper and it kindof sucks. I have seen the Kent(25 bucks!), and this disk scraper(18 bucks). So which of the many scrapers on my LFS shelves will do the trick without having to scrub and scrub? I am really into keeping the front glass super clean, and now I have justified spending some hard earned cash, which is the best?

Thanks in advance,
Dustin

Well Dustin, If you can't get your hands on one of the "FishDaddy Scrapers" (I hear that they are regional) You might try the Kent Proscraper. That's the one I use, but only because I wasn't aware of the FishDaddy at the time.

Jerel

PS Dick (FishDaddy) has a great one you can make yourself.

Nothing beats a credit card. Magnets are good too.

HA! dustin I have the kent pro-scraper X-long (35") with the s/s blade and it works great on coralline algae. I bought it at WWW.petwarehouse.com for $19.95 and the s/s blade at $4.39. good luck!

I love the Kent ProScrapers.

I have the steel and plastic blades for glass and acrylic, and they've just come out with a cloth/sponge pad attachment too.

I've got the 25" handle and the small palm sized handle, and of course all the blades fit all the sizes of handle.

I use these on my 8 home tanks, the tank I maintain, and the tanks at work.

Have I mentioned I love the Kent ProScrapers?

I used a credit card before actually coughing up for a real algae scraper. The Kent Pro-Scraper is AWESOME. No comparison to a credit card (although I haven't done the Visa vs Mastercard test)

I have the small handled one which came with the plastic blade for acrylic tanks and bought the stainless steel blade for my glass aquarium. I removes algae effortlessly! Definitely worth the money.
