Berlin XL info....

I just gotta a Berlin XL with pump included. The instructions for assembly and set up leave a lot desired, and there werent many pictures either (I work good with pictures). Anyone else out there using this item? I am not getting much in the collection cup, but I realize its new and may take a couple of days to produce something. I think I am just impatient, but I am wondering since its been running for 36 hours if I have it set up right and properly adjusted? If you have suggestions or some "spiritual enrichment" at making this thing perform, I am open to any words of wisdom.....

is ther any way you could post a pic or two of the setup? if we can see where your water levels are in the skimmer and the bubble concentrations we could help a little more.

are you getting any foam at all at the top of the collection tube? you may need to increase the flow or raise the water level inside the skimmer. how long has the tank been setup before the skimmer was added? if they are both brand new than you will not have anything to skimm yet.

hth,

G~

Yeah Geoff, I can take a pic and put it on here if I can figure out how to do that (I am pretty computer Illiterate!). I am running it in a newly set up 75 gallon Sump with 55 gallons of fresh sea water. The tank is about 5 months old, but all of the water and sand came out or three smaller established tanks when I set it up. I do indeed have a ton of really fine bubbles, the water level is up to the Black plastic piece that has the two water exhaust tubes. I have noticed that every now and again there will be large (quarter sized) bubbles pass through the small inner tube that has the baffle in it. Is that normal? Also, the 2 tubes that Exhaust water seem to have about half the water coming out of them that you would expect from tubes that size, but water does come out reasonably brisk, just not quiet what I expected it would. I am ignorant on the Berlins and this is the first one I have used. With the problems I was having with Redsea's Prizm, I was seriously thinking of boycotting Redsea But broke down anyways and got another redsea product. I hope I didnt buy and expensive conversation piece? I will work on the pic a boit later....Thanks for the help at anyrate and hopefully the additional info will give you a better visual on what I am working with.
