Question

Berlin Skimmer

Hi Everyone -

I have an xl Berlin Skimmer on my 75 reef tank and I have noticed an advertisement from Berlin where they are offering a modification for the skimmer that improves its effeciency, or so they say. Anyone out there with any experience on the modification and how does it improve the skimmers operation?

Do you know what the upgrade consists of?
My experience with the Berlins is limited but they always struck me as more complicated than need be. A needle wheel pump might be a good modification(like the turblflotor uses)

jlreese,

I believe the modification is the use of a needle wheel pump just as Doug suggested.

Question

What is a needle wheel ?
I have the classic and there is a pump mod for the turbo's. I was wondering if this would kick this skimmer into high gear?
