Berlin H.O.T. skimmer ?

For those of you who use this skimmer; what pump do you use to drive it? I have a Mag 7 on mine and only the inner tube is packed with bubbles. I've talked to people with the in sump model and they have way more bubbles.

Do you think adding an airline to the air intake would increase the bubbles? I know that Berlin have a turbo model now available but I'd like to work with what I have.

It seems to be a common complaint of the HOT skimmer that the recommended pumps are not capable of efficiently operating the triple bypass. I guess that's the reason for the new "turbo" upgrade. I initially used a Rio 2500 on mine and later upgraded to a Mag 9. I found some improvement with the change. I started using a Tetra Luft air pump to force air directly into the Venturi valve soon after the skimmer break-in period and feel that without it the performance would be unacceptable. I'm anxious to see if the new turbo upgrade receives positive reviews before deciding whether to purchase it.
