Beginner reef tank setup

I am trying to find out what coral should I start with for my beginner reef tank. My tank is as follows:
25 Gal AGA
24" Coralife Lunar Aqua light Deluxe w/65 watt 10000k Daylight Lamp, 65 watt True Actinic 03 Blue Lamp, Lunar LED's 470nm
Aquac Remora skimmer
Cascade 700 Canister filter
Penguin 1140 Power head
Hydor Koralia Nano Power head
30lb of live sand/crushed coral mix
35lb Fiji Live Rock

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to TRT ...

I would start with soft corals but see what other are going to say. some easy ones are Green star polyps ( won't die easy) or mushrooms, xenias.

Welcoem to TRT!

In general soft corals are the place to start. Mushrooms and zoanthids are usually pretty hearty. Xenia can be easy but its sort of hit and miss. SOmetimes it grows like a weed w/ someone not really trying and sometimes it fails to really thrive in the tanks of experts. I;m not saying xenia isn't a good coral to try but don't beat yourself up if it doesn't work out. SOunds like you will have good light and a good skimmer. The canister filter may not be needed. cannister filters tend to cause problems if they are not properly maintained. I find they tend to be more trouble than they're worth. Some people end up using cannisters w/o any media just to add flow.

Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky went hunting? Well anyway, Brasky decides he's gonna hunt down all four members of the Banana Splits. He stalks and kills every one of them with a machete. They all beg for their lives, except Fleagul.

The canister is only being used for flow and holds only my carbon. Thanks for the tips.

Welcome to TRT!!!

The soft coral suggestions are good, especially with the lighting you currently have. Here are some links to get you started researching what you might like to keep.
