Barebottom vs. Deepsandbed

Just wondering which you prefer, bare bottom tanks or deep sand bed, and why.

I actually prefer neither. I am an SSB person through and through. I can't stand the look of either a BB or having sand half way up the glass as in a DSB. It's a little more work but i wouldn't have it any other way.

I prefer a sand bed. Looks more natural to me. Bare bottom obviously has it's positives as well. A great looking reef tank can be kept either way, IMO.

BB here - I have added more flow and don't have to woory about the sand storms and when the junk settles from the rocks sloughing off, I can just siphon it out. Can't imagine having a sand bed (been there done that) and just have all that stuff accumalate on the bottom getting mixed into the sand bed.
