Bare Bottom (what to use)

I am considering going Bare Bottom on a new tank.

As I'm unsure where to get starboard are there any other good alternatives?

I was thinking about gluing sand to the starboard to make it still look like sand what glue should I use?

Thank you!

There is a thread in the bb section (substrate free husbandry) about faux sand beds (fsb) where you can mix sand and epoxy and use that for your bottom. It eventually gets covered by coralline, but it is a more natural look than the starboard (IMO). I did this in my 75, you can see a few pics of different ones in the bb section.

Check for some restaurant supply places in your area for larger cutting boards (which is all starboard is), or you can get it online. I've bought from www.cuttingboardcompany.com.

When looking for it online you may have to look for it under High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Sheets. Here is another link in case you don't have enough already.
