bamboo shark eggs

i went to the LFS that i have had no luck with, they have the best selection. this guy has a big home made tank that he displays his live rock in. in the display tank are about 20 bamboo shark eggs clipped on the side of tank glass. the guy in there even let me know that the eggs were in, and a good buy. i told him i only had a 55 gal. he said that the sharks stay small for a long time. i told him no. i went back 2 days later and every one was gone. i cant believe that there are even that many tanks in Reno that can hold a 40 " fish. i hate to keep going back to this LFS but they have all the really cool stuf.o well. by the way i was able to get out of the store with only a brittle star.

Steve

Good for you on your forbearance by making just the brittle star purchase

You're right about the bamboo sharks and the eggs...seeing them makes me grind my teeth. We have a few people who come in to the shop looking for them now and again but we only special order them for people with large FO tanks, even then I think it's questionable. Maybe we should both do some reading up on bamboo sharks and try to educate the LFS owners on their growth rate, the recommended tank size and their care I'm always the eternal optimist, I hope that once people are educated, they'll see the light, lol.

Good for you Steve. It can be very hard to resist some of the more interesting critters! hope you have fun with your brittle star. We have a red serpent star. I like him...he isn't very social, but we can usually find him at feeding time!
