Bad week, lost 2 fish

Hello everyone,

Lost 2 fish in the past week. Lost a false lemonpeel, and punctato. Well, everyone else is doing great in tank not sure of the reason I lost the lemonpeel but the punctato got ick and was trying to treat. I guess I will keep my head up and think positive about the tank. Would like to replace the fish with something else but am worried that something else will die. Is this a typical thing for a new tank setup, to lose fish for no good reason? All lvl's check ok ( /shrug ). Just wanted to pass on my misfortune.

Jim

Jim sometimes it happens for no apperent reason, fish that seem healthy die out of the blue. Too many variables in the chain from collector to he the hobbiest The ich issue needs to be dealt with tho. Watch the remaining fish and feed ggod food fortified with Selcon to help boost immune system. Ich is almost always present in aquariums and it stress and or malnourishment that often let it get a foot hold , best of luck

It happens Jim. Sometimes the reason is obvious, but many times it is not. Best to let your tank mature a little more before adding some new additions. Let the tank catch up to the bioload, so to speak. Sorry about your losses.

There is nothing I can add to what has already been said, except to say I am sorry to hear of your loss! Johnny

Sucks doesn't it? Just when you think everything is good, tank inhabitants look happy...wham! I woke up this morning to find my cleaner shrimp dead. No marks on the body, nothing....just laying there.
