bad cowrie, bad!!

ok looked in my tank this evening, and saw my cowrie cruising over my new zoos. they were all closed up, and his mouth was out, munching away.

i panicked and snatched him off and sent him to the fuge.

1/2 hour later all the zoos were opened again, seemingly unscarred.

i know cowries can be known to eat sponges, but what about softies? doesn't seem that he hurt them any, but i dont want to take any chances. might be better off to return him? or leave him in the fuge?

i've been wanting to get some of those nice branchy bright orange and red sponges anyway.....

i really like the cowrie, but dont want to lose brand new corals to him

suggestions?

Do any of your zoos have a "munched" look to them? Probably just eating detritus and algae off of the surface of the zoos...

If it's eating sponge then I would also get rid of it..

Not all cowries are safe. Check this out. When they get big they tend to eat softies, but you might be able to supplement meaty food for them.
