Baby pipefish pic
I've got a zillion OTHER things I should be doing, but I don't feel like it so I've been tinkering with the camera today....
Again, it's a $70 camera so it takes pix that make you use your imagination a bit, but inside the red circle is one of the 4 baby pipefish.

It's a Relysis Dimera 3500. Bought it about 3 or 4 years ago on Ebay for $70, and extra memory cards are about $20-40. They are probably cheaper now.
Not the best quality...they EAT batteries (Lithium batteries....) I bought an AC adaptor to save on battery costs.
For the money it does an OK job. I want a fancy schmancy camera that does stills and video, but I'll have to win the lotto first...

Other than crop a bit and resize and add the circle, I didn't do much with it. I left the rest of the "scenery" for perspective on how small these little guys are. Thread with eyeballs!
Like I said, the camera leaves a bit to be desired, and wasn't made to do macros...

Hey you might try riggin up an adaptor or holder for an inexpensive 1+ close up lense, these usually sell in a set of 3 (1+thru3+)_ for around $20, they normally screw on the front of a camera lense and allow closer focus, kinda like reading glasses for a camera. It might help you get a little closer

There's nowhere to attach a lens or adaptor. It's a very primitive camera.
Maybe next year Santa will bring me one. He's tapped out this year.

Jenn,
Thanks for the link on the cameras. Not a bad deal, some of those going for around $50. I have an Olympus D340R, which is pretty good, but no optical zoom... It's hard to get good detail pics of small stuff without one. Using a tripod helps steady the image but the doggone fish move at the wrong time!
Someone mentioned holding a magnifying glass in front of the lens and got some decent macros that way..I haven't tried it yet, as Doug1 is using our reading glass right now!
