Arizona and what it has to offer

We recently moved to AZ from northern CA and I have yet to find one or two REALLY good places to shop for animals/products/knowledge...anyone have any suggestions?

Also, my tank is on the north side of the house in front of a window roughly the size of the tank...is there any harm from letting ambient sunlight enter the tank? I could easily put the blue background back on and close the black-out blinds, but I have had it this way for a few months and everything seems to be thriving.

One last thing...are there any other members from AZ (I am from Chandler) here?

The Arizona summer might heat the tank up pretty well if the sunshine is directly on the tank.
I live in hot, dry, SoCal and when I left the blinds open during the day, the sun would hit the tank from across the room and heat it up at least 5 degree In a couple hours. I don’t know if you run your AC all day or if you have a chiller but the sun definitely heats it up.
I maybe a rookie but I know what the sun does to mine.

the tank receives no direct sunlight...it is in the west corner and the window looks out north. the closest window that lets light in directly is 30+ feet in the dining area.

I have my aquarium about 2 feet from the balconey glass doors and it receives indirect sun light in the morning hours and it looks so natural to see the sun come up over the reef! No problems with temp swing either!

I don't recall if that's the name or not. I 've only been there maybe twice, I do remember it's right off of DOBSON, maybe a 1/2 mile off of the freeway. Tons of fish, and nice corals, not to mention some very fancy tanks on display. There was another we visited in the TEMPE area which was not much to speak of.

There is a GREAT LFS on 32nd St. & Cactus called "Aqua Touch". I highly recomend them, always willing to help, and they quarantine all the livestock before making it public.... I think 10 days.....

(no, I don't work for them, but am a very satisfied customer)
