thanks doug, im trying my best to keep them as stable as possible. should i take my 3 damsels out if i can to ensure the tank saftey. will keeping those baby damsels in hurt in the longrun or should i just return them to the lfs. ill be away for the next two months ,but ill be checking in on the tank twice a week so i really dont care if i have to get rid of them. i have lots of polyp, mushrooms, feather worms, crabs, hermits, shrimps. im hoping the corals will do better while im away.mabe better without the damsels ammonia and waste. you advise me please

Ok I am a little confused unless you are counting the sump size along with overall tank capacity. A 90 ga tank is 18wx26fx48L my 75 is 18x21x48 and the heigth aint no big thing to a tang. Most of the tangs ypou list, at least the Leucosternon and and the Naso can grow over 12"Personal experience with Naso) Chevron are a bit smaller but still will need a longer tank than 4 as they mature
Even my 4" sailfin tang will out grow my 75 so if I dont dont upgrade to a 6' tank or longer he will go live in the 240 at Ronald McDonald house in Portland.
As far as the damsels, unless you want them long term take them back now, it will simplify the time you arent there to baby the tank along and give it a chance to stabilize, FWIW, my tank was fishless for 6 months after moving it into the 75, and it had been in the previous tank for a yr and a half

my tank is 18 wide by 48 long, height im not sure but it is taller than the average tank. i think theres only 2 damsels left. one will be easy to catch, the other will be tough. theyre going outa there this week. if this tank works out well and isnt going to be a headache with problems always destroying the tank then,i will hopefully get into building a 400 gallon tank in 2 or 3 years from now. im really into to this and want to make to work with the least problems.ive been reading , asking every person in every lfs ,which is about 3 of them then asking your advise. i try and chose the best advise that sounds like it came from the books. you guys have been right on the money everytime.
