Are medtanks useless once all fish have been introduced?

I have a 20g Long tank using as a medtank. I have been running it continually. I might add one more fish but was wondering if i need to run it wet continuously (which involves a decent amount of mantience) or if i could have it dry and just run it when i need. The main point to my point of veiw is that i couldn't catch any fish without tearing the rockout of the display, so, unless a dire situation arises, i don't see a need for the med.

Well there is that, if you have established a stable population and a stress free environment you might get way with not having it up and running. It's kind of a crap shoot but great husbandry, decent maint, reasonable bioload should make your fish healtheir

If needed, could it be biologically ready after a week of setup? I have a backpack filter on it now, with black molly's keeping it biological
