are all mag drives alike?

Good afternoon, I am looking to get a magdrive to power my skimmer. At all the LFS around here all they seem to have in stock are the pond mag drives with an superlong cord. are they the same pump like a "normal" mag? will the work and/or hold up in the marine environment? thanks for the advice.........

I have a mag 7 and a 5 both have the super long cord and don't have the stainless screws, both submerged. no problems at all!!!

These are the normal mag. the ones you are talking about use stainless screws and have an even longer cord for $5 more and are called "pond version" http://www.aquatictech.com/pumps.html

FWIW I just bought a mag24 pump the other day.
