aragonite sand


just addded dry aragonitde sand.
will i go threw a cycle
i added 90 pounds to my 110g 1 month old tank
I only have live rock currently in the display (and sand of course)

you might see a small mini one, but it shoudl pass pretty fast if the ttank has already finished, the new sand just does not have any live in it yet, if it is laying on top of sand when you 1st set it up then there is no micro live in yet.

you prollly should have mixed the two up a bit to make sure you do not kill all of the critters in the old sand bed by covering them. since the tank is only a month old it is not a big deal either way.

did you raise the LR up above the sand bed? if not then your LR will quickly fill with phosphates making it difficult to grow stony coral on it.

it is good to get as much flow on the sand bed as possible and to keep as little of the LR touching it as possible.

using acrylic/PVC stands work well.
