Well, I already used it. So we'll see how it works. It did say GE II, #5000, and 100% silicone. Its with some new Bio-guard or something like that.

It will kill your fish - This whole thread we talked about GE Silicone I for windows and doors - I don't know what else to tell you - the II will kill your stuff.
The stuff that kills mold and mildew is TOXIC to your stuff.
IMO your only alternative now is to cut it ALL out and start again.
Sorry - I tried but I got drowned out in a sea of silicone 2.

scrape it off once it fully dries and use I for windows and doors or all glass silicone.
Sorry about the mistake......... just scrape it out and start new with the right silicone.

I had to go get more today anyhow. I suppose its better now than when my fish are in there lol. Some of it did touch the rest of my silicone used to put my tank together. I will try to scrape off as mch as I can, but Im sure there will be a little still left down there. If I silicone over that and seal it so it doesnt touch the water, will that be ok? I will try to get out what I can though...

Ok, so I got some GE I silicone. Its clear, says 100% silicone rubber silicone for doors and windows. Doesnt mention anti mildew or mold last 5 digits on the barcode are 00012. Im hoping that will work?
Another question, If I cut out all of this silicone, should I Try to avoid the silicone holding my tank together? Or can I cut that too, , and just resilicone the seams along where they were meant to be? I dont want this tank to leak or just fall apart lol.
Or my other option is to get as much as possible, and probably leave a little in there. Knowledgable input is appreciated. T
Thanks, Joe

So i cant get all of this stuff off. Some of it just is leaving a residue. If I silicone the non toxic stuff over where the toxic possibly was, and totally seal out the bottom of the fsb, where there is some residue, Im imagining I should be ok? I dont see the toxic silicone seeping through the non-toxic, into the tank, or am I wrong?

ok, so I thought I scraped most of this stuff out of my tank, and off of my FSB. I think its a little decieving though, because on the seams, I put sand embedded into the silicone. So what looks like sand, could be silicone with sand on top, disguising it.
So lastnight, I did a 100% WC on my rocks Im cooking. I used that water to put into the tank with the silicone thats toxic. Well, I let it settle for a little, then I put a damsel in there. He was doing fine for a few hours. Then when I woke up in th emorning he was dead, and actually under the FSB. Im asumming he was dead before he floating sideways under the little opening.
So I dont know what other options I really have here.... Im thinking of just try to scrape more silicone off, and hope for the best. I currently have the whole bottom of the tank soaking in vinegar. I was also thinking of putting another layer of the famo-wood glaze on top of my current FSB, to totally seal off the toxic silicone. Then putting some dry sand on top of that when its tacky.
Anyone have input on this? Im kinda at a dead end right now.

What is an FSB? I can't figure that one out.
Did you test the water that you used before you put the damsel in, to rule out other parameter issues?
